How does Plinko work?

Every drop lands in one of the buckets under the board. Centre buckets pay the least; edge buckets pay the most. Two settings shape the board:

  • Risk level — Easy, Medium, Hard, or Expert. Higher risk increases volatility and edge payouts.
  • Rows — choose between 8 and 16. More rows means a wider spread of possible multipliers.

How do risk level and rows change the board?

Risk (Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert) sets how aggressive the bucket multipliers are. Rows (8–16) set how many pin levels the ball passes through. Higher risk and more rows together produce the widest payout spread.

Why do centre buckets pay less than the edges?

Most paths land near the centre, so those buckets pay lower multipliers. Edge buckets are rarer and hold the top payouts — up to 10,000x on Expert with 16 rows.

What does Expert risk change compared with Hard?

Expert pushes more value into the outer buckets and can include very low centre multipliers (including 0.1x). That raises both upside and the chance of a losing drop.

How is a Plinko path verified?

The left/right sequence for each drop is derived from the HMAC-SHA256 seed pair. After the round, recompute that path in the VFair verification tool to confirm the bucket.
